Job Description
Global MHE procurement retrofits team lead and secures supplier MHE upgrade technologies, solutions, and capacity required to deliver the highly automated FC technology road-map through site modernization and equipment upgrades across all Amazon Business Units. Our team builds MHE retrofit sourcing category, supplier development and selection for Plan of Record (POR) and Engineering Retrofit projects across North America, customer fulfillment (GCF), specialty fulfillment (GSF), and transportation (ATS) operations. These solutions require continuous engineering development, emerging and disruptive technology innovations, and long-term supplier partnerships while working closely with expanded MHE category and OMHS teams to secure supply chain continuity. We are filling a key role on our North America retrofits sourcing team, which will be exclusively supporting the Megatron program and driving retrofit program awards to pull-in 2027/2028 programs to build up peak capacity in our First-Mile network.
Amazon is seeking an industry proven and detail oriented indirect sourcing Category manager (CM) to qualify, develop and manage our key material handling supplier base. Successful candidates are natural self-starters who have prior experience in the integrated automation project life cycle, contract manufacturing, and system supplier and/or technology sourcing. Our CM must be agile with the ability to quickly adapt strategies, plans and solutions in response to dynamic business requirements. They also must be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals at all levels of the organization. Key job responsibilities
- Engage with the Megatron team as the Single-Threaded Lead from the Retrofit team to provide the best solutions through Turnkey MHE solution and direct sourcing, achieving shorter lead times, lower cost, and increased flexibility and capacity.
- Partner with global and regional procurement teams to qualify, manage and source key MHE Retrofit projects required by Megatron.
- Develop and manage strong strategic relationships with our key suppliers and business partners to reduce costs, compress project lifecycles, advance solution quality and improve capital efficiencies.
- Implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize costs and ensure continuity of supply, ensuring cost efficient supply of critical projects.
- Facilitate suppliers’ understanding of Amazon global policies, equipment design standards, budget and cost targets, and service and quality expectations.
- Drive suppliers’ continuous improvement and development program in support of quality, delivery and cost performance metrics.
- Support common global supplier selection processes, global supplier development processes, and continued managed expansion of the global supplier base.
- Manage common global supplier metrics and data reporting to support the achievement of continuous cost improvement targets.
- Support Lean / Cost Out programs to reduce CapEx spend and optimize capital spend efficiency.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing and category management in indirect categories such as professional services, support or maintenance spend, supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience.
- 5+ years of defining and executing against program timeline & requirements experience.
- 5+ years of developing diverse supplier strategies and executing on sourcing activities experience.
- 3+ years of leading large complex programs experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience.
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience.
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization.
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
