Job description
DESCRIPTION
Amazon is looking for an Import/Export Specialist I to support import and export compliance operations for growing international businesses in the Trade Operations space. The Import/Export Specialist I is responsible for executing and supporting trade compliance processes within a cross-functional program under guidance from senior team members.
As a member of the Global Trade Services team, you will develop your trade compliance expertise, support team operations, and collaborate with colleagues across functions. You will work within the Trade Operations Program team, partnering directly with internal teams from legal, logistics, supply chain, quality, engineering, as well as Amazon's global network of trade and compliance teams.
Key job responsibilities
Execute Broker Management activities and liaise with brokers and supply chain participants daily.
Serve as a point of contact for routine regulatory inquiries in North America, escalating complex matters as needed.
Support team objectives, contribute to process improvements, and track progress using defined metrics.
Partner with internal and external stakeholders including business, tech, legal, and trade teams to apply regulations under guidance.
Support the rollout of controls and audits, including testing and measuring their effectiveness.
Contribute to scalable solutions across technologies, business models, and country regulatory regimes.
Stay informed on relevant regulations and technologies; flag updates to the team.
Prepare summaries articulating problem statements, solutions, and milestones for senior review.
Track timelines and owners to support risk reduction at appropriate speed.
Gather feedback from cross-company input providers; review metrics and benchmarks to validate assumptions.
Work with BI engineers and tech teams to track KPIs and maintain reporting systems.
Communicate risks, regulatory updates, and operational status to stakeholders in meetings and documents.
A day in the life
As an Import/Export Specialist I, you will handle daily operational tasks, support escalation resolution, and coordinate with stakeholders across different time zones to keep trade compliance processes running smoothly.
About the team
This position reports to the Americas Trade Compliance Operations Manager in the Global Trade Services (GTS) function. GTS is responsible for providing global trade and product compliance support for Amazon businesses, creating efficient processes that meet demanding cross border regulations, while minimizing impact to the business.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in Trade Compliance and/or Supply Chain industry, i.e. as customs agent/officer, compliance specialist, or customs operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed customs broker

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
