Counselor - Junior High (46-4)

Primary Purpose/Role:

The primary responsibility of a school counselor is to counsel and advocate for all students to fully develop their personal, social, academic, and career abilities. A school counselor works alongside school faculty/staff, students, parents, and community to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program at the assigned school.

Qualifications

• Education/Certification: Master's degree in Counseling
• Valid Texas school counseling certificate
• Minimum three years of creditable years of teaching experience

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of school counseling procedures, social/emotional learning, student academic and career development.
• Child behavior management and emotional regulation techniques.
