Position Overview

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will work within the Cloud Virtualization and Storage (CVS) team at Alvaria to manage business-critical hypervisor, data storage, backup, and other technologies. This role involves both project work and ticket handling, with opportunities for technical and career growth. The candidate must demonstrate strong technical acumen, excellent problem-solving skills, and exceptional customer service, as well as the ability to work with diverse technologies. The role also includes participation in a 24/7 365 on-call rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain virtualization, storage, backup, and server hardware platforms.
  • Provide excellent customer service by ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues through effective ticket management and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in a 24/7 365 on-call rotation for tier 1 level troubleshooting.
  • Lead peers in your area of expertise by architecting solutions and defining configuration details.
  • Perform root cause analysis, patch management, diagnostics, vendor liaison, and operational monitoring.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience (over 50% of work time) in a primary technology area.
  • Expertise in virtualization platforms – VMware vSphere V7 and V8.
  • Experience with data storage platforms – Dell Unity; HPE 3PAR, Primera; Pure Storage; Qumulo.
  • Familiarity with data protection and backup solutions – Veeam on HPE; Rubrik; Zerto.
  • Proficiency with server hardware – HPE; Synergy Gen11; C7000 Gen10 Blades; Dell R640s.
  • Skills in PowerShell scripting, Zerto (DR), and Serv-U (SFTP).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting and virtualization technologies.
  • Versatility to work with Zerto and Serv-U applications, along with select storage skills.
  • Experience in leading peers while architecting and troubleshooting technology solutions.
  • Ability to manage and update technical tickets in accordance with company policies.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with various teams.
  • Expertise in root cause analysis, operational monitoring, patch management, and diagnostics.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a commitment to proper documentation and continuous improvement.
