Long Description Job Summary
He would be responsible for Production output, Safety, Discipline, maintenance, people management and Total plant production activities.
- Planning and organizing for the production volumes with reference to the time schedules
- Responsible for handling the complete shift operations and managing the workmen.
- Ensure the total loading operations carried out as per plan in a particular shift.
- Meeting the target of shipment as per the priorities set from time to time by monitoring the activities of checkers and operators.
- Ensuring the manufacturing process improvements are implemented and process efficiency is achieved.
- Ensuring the no production loss in any shift in operations, on account of any controllable parameter.
- Ensuring the target shipments are met with load details in a particular shift.
- Endeavour to manage / reduce the cost of production at the unit.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure to meet the production targets with the available resources, with uncompromised quality standards
- Lead the dept / functional heads team and ensure that the production plans reach the last resource involved in production
- Anticipates bottlenecks, clarifies project priorities, identifies risks, and escalates issues that cannot be internally resolved
- Lead the development initiatives and track the progress of various projects
- Strictly follow the priority (Jobs or Part marks) while loading
- Works closely with various functional leads, sub-leads gathering information and tracking progress against approved milestones
- Implement the productivity enhancement programs are implemented with the objective of yield / quality enhancement or reduction in conversion cost.
- Ensuring the phase wise closing of the jobs as planned
- Identify the best tools, technologies, process to help manage workflow and improve the productivity
- Provide timely feedback to the team members and reports as may be required, to the management
- Provide leadership to departments under control and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions.
- Design and implement the sustainable manufacturing solutions in order to achieve the organizational objectives.
- Ensure that Environmental, Health and Safety, manufacturing and quality standards and procedures are adhered to
Candidate Requirements
QUALIFICATION: Graduate or Post graduate in Mechanical Engineering, from an institute of repute.
Strong knowledge in SIX Sigma/ TPM / TQM / Lean /Operational Excellence
EXPERIENCE & INDUSTRY: Minimum20 years in managing a large fabrication division or PEB set up in manufacturing / engineering industry
FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
- Sound knowledge in steel fabrication / welding techniques
- Plate cutting knowledge, bus body fabrication, and structural steel fabrication experience
- Sound knowledge of engineering designs & diagrams
- Experience in supply chain and fabrication quality function is a great plus
- Understanding the priority requirements at Production.
- Should be able to meet the targets set from time to time
- Should be able to train & handhold team with the requirements of job
