Responsibilities

As a Business Intelligence Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Serve as a Power BI Service Administrator, managing workspace settings, user access, deployments, and service governance.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into scalable data models, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliability across data sources, reporting platforms, and published content.
  • Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices to support enterprise use of BI tools and trusted data assets.
  • Drive data quality initiatives to validate, cleanse, and monitor datasets and datasets pipelines.
  • Document data definitions, lineage, dashboard usage, and BI processes to promote transparency and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide guidance and training to users on Power BI features, data interpretation, and performance optimization.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to Power BI reports, services, security roles, and data refresh processes.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience developing Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models in enterprise environments.
  • Experience as a Power BI Service Administrator including managing deployments, security, licensing, and governance.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and relational database concepts.
  • Experience implementing and supporting data governance programs and data integrity controls.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and actionable insights.

Desired Qualifications

  • Microsoft Power BI certification (e.g., PL-300 or equivalent).
  • Experience with Federal Contracting organizations
  • Experience with financial reporting
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics (report development, framework modeling, or migration initiatives).
  • Familiarity with enterprise BI modernization or legacy reporting platform transitions.
