When we come together – where every voice is heard and everyone knows they belong and matter – we create solutions that launch people into space, support lifesaving care in hospitals, and enable the construction of groundbreaking, world scale production facilities.

Reimagine What’s Possible

The Senior EHS Specialist will support safe, compliant, and efficient operations for the 24/7 Membrane Solutions manufacturing site in St. Louis. This role serves as a key safety partner to manufacturing and office teams, providing hands-on EHS leadership, facilitating incident and near-miss investigations, delivering training, analyzing safety trends, and supporting Basic Safety Process (BSP) administration. The position requires strong technical capability, floor-level engagement, and the ability to partner effectively with employees, supervisors, and site leadership to strengthen a proactive safety culture focused on accountability, risk reduction, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead site EHS programs, including Basic Safety Process (BSP), Corporate Air Products initiatives, safety committees, and employee engagement activities.

  • Serve as the site EHS subject matter expert and primary point of contact for safety, compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Manage safety data systems, dashboards, scorecards, and monthly reporting to identify trends, prioritize risks, and support data-driven decision-making.

  • Coordinate management safety reviews, track action items, and ensure timely follow-up and closure.

  • Lead investigations for incidents, near misses, first aid cases, and unsafe conditions using structured root-cause analysis; communicate lessons learned and corrective actions.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks through observations, APTs, JSAs, MSAs, audits, inspections, and other leading indicators.

  • Monitor high-risk activities and partner with supervisors, leads, and operations teams to reinforce safe work practices and improve procedures.

  • Develop, deliver, and maintain EHS training programs for supervisors and employees across a multi-shift, 24/7 operation.

  • Ensure accurate OSHA recordkeeping, regulatory reporting, permit documentation, training records, and compliance submissions.

  • Support environmental programs, including SPCC, NPDES, industrial wastewater, hazardous waste handling, and shipment requirements.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture by coaching leaders, encouraging open communication, recognizing positive behaviors, and embedding EHS ownership into daily management systems such as tier boards, Gemba walks, and SQDC.

  • Participate in local and regional EHSQ forums and share best practices across Membrane Solutions teams.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Candidates actively pursuing a relevant degree with documented EHS experience will be considered.

  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.

  • Experience supporting 24/7 operations preferred.

  • Proven experience improving safety performance, conducting risk assessments, leading root-cause analysis, analyzing safety data, and communicating trends effectively.
