AIG underwriting teams help to find insurance solutions in areas including Financial Lines, Property, Casualty, Specialty Lines, Cyber, Multinational Clients, and High Net Worth individuals. How will you create an impact:

  • Accountable for the profitable underwriting of onshore energy business, including new and renewal accounts consistent with business under appetite and underwriting guidelines.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with brokers and agents and energy clients.
  • Will have marketing responsibilities, including strategic growth initiatives.
  • Understand policy language and coverage interpretation, contractual risk transfer analysis, loss analysis and underwriting compliance.
  • Collaborate across the organization with risk engineering, claims, actuarial and operations.
  • Represent AIG as point of contact for Multinational client and program management, coordinating communication and project management across all internal and external stakeholders in respect of program design, implementation and ongoing client service.
  • Travel as needed to maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training
  • Underwriting experience within the chemical, petrochemical and oil & gas industry.
  • Advanced analytical skills to interpret business information from multiple sources to make critical account decisions regarding quality of risk.
  • Strong decision-making skills to execute on the underwriting intent and develop a profitable book of business.
  • Must possess effective interpersonal skills with solid ability to build and manage relationships with agents, brokers, customers, and other employees.
  • Knowledge of insurance coverage, products, rating and pricing techniques
  • Excellent negotiation and marketing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Solid computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Applicants will have prior field marketing experience with agent, broker, and customer meetings.
