Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Contract Farming Project Manager to lead and manage end-to-end contract farming operations. The candidate will be fully responsible for land identification, farmer onboarding, regular field visits and followup ,agreement execution, crop planning, production targeting, field execution, quality assurance, and harvest management to meet domestic and export requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesContract Farming & Legal Management

Identify suitable farming clusters and agricultural land
Develop farmer networks, village contacts, and agri partners
Prepare, negotiate, and execute farming agreements with farmers/landowners
Coordinate land documentation, lease agreements, legal verification, and compliance
Maintain all contract records, farmer documentation, and project MIS

Production Planning & Target Achievement

Plan crop acreage based on business requirements
Set seasonal production targets and yield benchmarks
Prepare crop calendars, sowing schedules, and harvest plans
Ensure targeted production is achieved within timelines

Field Operations Management

Regular field visits and farmer follow-up
Monitor sowing, transplanting, irrigation, interculture, harvesting, and post-harvest activities
Manage labour, contractors, machinery operators, and field supervisors
Ensure availability and proper use of farm equipment and implements

Crop Nutrition & Soil Management

Develop nutrient schedules based on crop stage
Monitor fertilizer application programs
Conduct soil sampling, soil analysis, and corrective action planning
Ensure soil health improvement and long-term productivity

Pest & Disease Management

Monitor pest and disease incidence regularly
Implement preventive and corrective crop protection programs
Ensure responsible pesticide selection, dosage, application, and residue compliance
Maintain spray records and traceability

Quality Assurance

Monitor crop growth, moisture, maturity, grading, and quality parameters
Ensure produce meets export and buyer specifications
Conduct regular inspections and corrective actions

Irrigation & Resource Management

Plan irrigation schedules
Monitor drip/sprinkler systems, pumps, borewells, and water usage efficiency
Ensure timely maintenance of irrigation infrastructure

Reporting & Coordination

Submit daily/weekly field reports
Track productivity, input consumption, crop health, and farmer compliance
Coordinate with procurement, export, quality, and management teams

Candidate Requirements

B.Sc / M.Sc Agriculture / Agribusiness / related field preferred
Minimum 5+ years experience in contract farming or large-scale farm operations
Strong knowledge of agronomy, soil science, plant nutrition, irrigation, and crop protection
Experience in farmer agreement drafting and field execution
Knowledge of Maharashtra agricultural practices and rural network preferred
Ability to travel extensively across villages
