In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted site-level liaison and integration expert, partnering closely with physician/APC recruiters, operational leaders, medical group leaders, candidates, and families to ensure a smooth, welcoming, and highly coordinated recruitment and onboarding journey.

About This Opportunity

As a Physician Integration Specialist, you’ll play a key role in creating a best-in-class candidate experience while supporting workforce planning, onboarding, succession, retention, and clinician integration efforts. You’ll work closely with site and market leadership to provide timely communication, coordinate interviews and site visits, share market and community insights, and help ensure recruitment and onboarding processes are consistent, compliant, efficient, and candidate-centered.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-building, project coordination, problem-solving, and serving as a connector between candidates, families, recruiters, physician leaders, and operational teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the primary site liaison during the pre-interview and interview process, providing consultation, education, and support to candidates, physician leaders, and recruitment colleagues.
  • Partner with physician/APC recruiters to ensure a smooth, efficient, and effective candidate experience throughout the recruitment, interview, hiring, and onboarding process.
  • Develop, coordinate, and schedule site visit plans, candidate itineraries, interviews, community tours, and related logistics.
  • Educate candidates and their families on Advocate Health’s services, facilities, processes, culture, and local communities.
  • Identify candidate and family needs, research resources as needed, and provide guidance to support relocation and integration.
  • Maintain consistent communication regarding candidate status, itinerary development, market conditions, recruitment plans, and potential process concerns.
  • Collaborate with operational and medical leadership to support assessment of candidate fit, including cultural alignment and skill match.
  • Accompany candidates during site visits, gather post-visit feedback from candidates and leaders, and help evaluate the effectiveness of the visit experience.
  • Partner with local administration, operations, medical group leaders, and recruitment colleagues to support development of practice descriptions and opportunity summaries.
  • Support site-level workforce planning by identifying and communicating pending workforce concerns, recruitment trends, and potential retention opportunities.
  • Brand and market Advocate Health by presenting the organization, services, programs, communities, and best practices in a consistent and compelling way.
  • Maintain contact with new clinicians during the first year of employment to support a smooth transition, answer questions, resolve concerns, and gather scheduled feedback.
  • Conduct exit interviews with departing clinicians, including retirees, and prepare reports for senior leadership to help track trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor credentialing, privileging, and licensing processes in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to support timely completion after offer acceptance.
  • Proactively identify potential delays or gaps in hiring, onboarding, credentialing, and integration processes and help facilitate timely solutions.
  • Oversee onboarding in partnership with department colleagues, site leadership, and new hires to help ensure a successful transition.
  • Coordinate and support new hire house-hunting activities, clinical/site orientation, hospital orientation, and related integration needs.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in provider relations, marketing, medical group operations, communications, physician/APP recruitment, or a related health care environment.
  • Experience developing relationships with providers, educating providers on services and programs, and facilitating processes across multiple teams.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment strategies, retention practices, business development, market development, and workforce planning.
  • Ability to evaluate, address, and resolve complex issues and challenges with sound judgment and follow-through.
  • Ability to recognize potentially problematic issues, understand organizational implications, and support effective resolution.
  • Knowledge of the geographic area served, with the ability to provide community guidance to physicians and their families.
  • Advanced knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations impacting recruitment, human resources, and organizational practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with physicians, leaders, candidates, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong negotiation, organization, prioritization, and project coordination skills.
  • Experience leading and/or coordinating projects, including timeline development, implementation, follow-up, and evaluation.
  • Ability to serve as a resource, provide guidance to others, and establish credibility through expertise, trust, and relationship-building.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other system applications.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting physician and/or APP recruitment, onboarding, integration, provider relations, business development, marketing, clinic operations, or medical group operations.
  • Experience working in a health care environment with physicians, APPs, operational leaders, physician leaders, service line leaders, hospital executives, and recruitment teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, service-minded approach, and ability to work autonomously while collaborating with a broader team.
  • Knowledge of local communities, hospitals, clinics, and health care markets within the assigned territory.
  • Experience supporting clinician candidate visits, relocation needs, onboarding, retention, and post-hire integration activities.
