$51.05 - $76.60

Major Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing proficient and thorough investigations to identify the causes and impact of teammate injuries/illnesses and near miss events. 
  • Utilizes investigation data to determine if current policy or procedures require changes.   
  • Works in conjunction w/ department leaders to complete investigations of safety events, analysis of potential hazards and development of methods to mitigate future losses. 
  • Develops and presents comprehensive reports on the facts and analysis used to develop recommendations and action items addressing safety events. 
  • Communicates and presents regularly to site executive teams around the occurrence of serious safety events, and status of corrective actions. 
  • Guides on-site investigations of accident scenes  
  • Collects and analyze physical evidence and data as needed 
  • Interviews teammates who witness and/or report safety events 
  • Coordinates with regulatory agencies and organizational stakeholders as required 
  • Maintains details and accurate records of all safety event investigations 
  • Uses specialized tools and equipment to analyze safety events  
  • Works collaboratively with the Office of General Council, Workers’ Compensation and other key stakeholders to minimize liability and loss to the organization 
  • Stays abreast of industry regulations and safety standards 
  • Provides guidance on accident prevention based on findings of investigations and data compilation 

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field, occupational health and safety or industrial hygiene. 

Experience Required:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in healthcare, insurance and / or accident investigation.     

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Awareness of key topics in the field of workforce safety. 
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and analyze process changes. 
  • Demonstrates self-direction, results- oriented and creative approach to organizational change. 
  • Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze and report on large amounts of data with precision and accuracy. Must be able to extrapolate key themes within the data. 
  • Proficient in software and Microsoft Office 
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently and collaboratively. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders and present professionally to various audiences.  
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make recommendations to drive enhancements and process improvements. 
  • Strong attention to details, accuracy and quality principles. 
  • Demonstrated organizational, flexibility and time management skills; must be able to manage various projects and deadlines simultaneously. 
  • Ability to comfortably work with multiple independent requests and stakeholders. 
  • Ability to develop detailed proposals and recommendation plans. 
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive, confidential information in a respectful manner.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Position requires as-needed travel which may result in exposure to road and weather hazards.
