Job Description

About Us

Advisory Solutions is a white-glove, bespoke IT consulting firm delivering premium endpoint management and security services. Our team partners closely with organizations to design, implement, and support technology environments that keep employees productive and systems secure. We pride ourselves on a client-first culture, deep technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Position Summary

This is a client-facing engineering role. You will own the technical relationship with clients across macOS endpoint environments, serving as a trusted advisor on discovery calls, kickoffs, QBRs, and any engagement that requires an engineering presence. You will be embedded in active projects from day one, not brought in afterward.

We believe the best solutions come from engineers who are close to the problem. That means being present in client conversations, understanding the context behind every request, and genuinely caring about the experience of the people who use the systems you build.

You will build and maintain Apple endpoint environments across our client portfolio with a primary focus on Jamf and related technologies. You will design zero-touch deployment workflows, integrate EDR/MDR solutions, drive automation, and serve as the primary escalation point for the service desk. You will also be a core contributor on macOS infrastructure projects that come in through the door.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement

Participate in discovery, kickoff, and project scoping calls as the engineering voice; ask good questions and translate client context into technical decisions.

Attend QBRs and ongoing client check-ins where engineering presence is warranted; build familiarity with each client’s environment, team, and goals.

Partner with customer success managers to ensure clients feel supported and informed, especially during complex projects or incidents.

Communicate trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders; know when to escalate and when to ask for research time.

Build new MDM instances and onboarding workflows as new clients are brought on, owning the technical side of that process end-to-end.

MDM Management & Endpoint Security

Manage and maintain Jamf Pro and Jamf Protect instances across multiple client environments, including quarterly compliance reviews and connectivity audits.

Integrate EDR tooling (Jamf Protect) with MDR services such as Red Canary; monitor alert pipelines and tune detection rules.

Track zero-day vulnerabilities and application patch cycles; deploy critical patches within defined SLAs.

Maintain awareness of other MDM platforms in the client portfolio (Intune, Kandji) and advise on their configuration as needed.

Automation & Solution Development

Design, test, and deploy macOS management workflows from zero-touch provisioning through ongoing self-service, incorporating open-source and custom scripts (Bash, Python, Swift).

Research and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and approaches; present findings and proposals to engineering leadership and client stakeholders.

Ensure all changes are validated in a staging environment before production rollout.

Internal Escalation & Mentorship

Serve as the go-to escalation point for the service desk and junior team members on Jamf-related issues; be accessible, not just available.

Partner with the Director of Engineering to monitor industry trends and develop proactive strategies for the endpoint practice.

Share knowledge actively, helping elevate the team’s overall capability.

Documentation

Maintain comprehensive runbooks, configuration records, and procedures in Confluence.

Create and update internal and external-facing documentation for each client environment.

Qualifications

Required

3–5+ years of hands-on experience administering macOS endpoints in an MSP, consulting, or multi-tenant environment. MSP experience is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated comfort working directly with clients: discovery calls, technical briefings, and ongoing relationships are part of the job, not the exception.

Strong working knowledge of Jamf Pro (administration, Smart Groups, policies, profiles, packaging, etc.).

Experience with at least one EDR/security tool on macOS (e.g., Jamf Protect, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne).

Proficiency in scripting for macOS automation (Bash required; Python or Swift a plus).

Familiarity with zero-touch deployment workflows (Apple Business Manager, PreStage Enrollments).

Solid understanding of macOS security fundamentals (Gatekeeper, TCC/PPPC, Secure Token, FileVault).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred

Jamf 200, 300, or 400 certification.

Experience with additional MDM platforms (Intune, Kandji, Mosyle).

Familiarity with packaging tools (AutoPkg, Installomator).

Familiarity with version control (Git/GitHub) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).

Experience integrating MDR services (Red Canary, Huntress, or similar).

Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or equivalent.

What We Offer

Competitive salary range: $90,000 - $105,000

Health, dental, and vision insurance.

401(k) with employer match after 1 year of employment, during enrollment period

Budget for professional development and certifications.

Access to lab hardware, VMs, and software licenses for hands-on learning and testing.

A collaborative, learning-oriented team culture that values curiosity and technical growth.

Culture & Expectations

We expect every engineer to start as a consultant. That means understanding the “why” behind every recommendation, being comfortable in a client conversation, and staying curious enough to spin up a test environment when you need to learn something new.

The engineer who thrives here is one who sees client proximity as an advantage, not an interruption. The more context you have, the better your solutions will be. Our clients trust us to be their technology partner, and that trust is built through deep expertise, honest communication, and genuine investment in their success.

Advisory Solutions is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed

to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
