We’re hiring a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Lead Developer to support our marketing technology team by owning the backend development of the platform. This is a technical role, not a campaign builder. You’ll focus on data flows, platform configuration, and automation to enable marketers to work efficiently and at scale.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

  • Design and optimize data architecture, including Data Extensions, Contact Builder, and Subscriber models
  • Build and maintain complex automations using Automation Studio to import, move, transform, and export data
  • Develop SQL queries for data segmentation, filtering, and manipulation within SFMC
  • Implement data retention policies and archival strategies to manage storage costs
  • Create and maintain data relationships, attribute groups, and contact data models
  • Design scalable data models that support multi-brand, multi-region marketing operations
  • Optimize query performance and automation efficiency for large-scale data processing
  • Implement data validation rules and quality checks to ensure data integrity
  • Manage data imports from FTP, API, and file drop locations
  • Develop reusable components to support journey and email building (templates, content blocks, scripts, custom activities)
  • Build responsive email templates using HTML, CSS, AMPscript, and SSJS
  • Create dynamic content and personalization logic using AMPscript and Guide Template Language (GTL)
  • Develop custom CloudPages, landing pages, and preference centers with advanced functionality
  • Build custom Journey Builder activities using Node.js and SFMC SDK
  • Implement advanced scripting solutions for complex business logic and data manipulation
  • Create reusable code libraries and documentation for team efficiency
  • Develop custom solutions for A/B testing, dynamic content rendering, and personalization at scale
  • Build Einstein AI-powered recommendations and predictive content solutions
  • Create and manage API integrations between SFMC and external systems (CRM, e-commerce, data warehouses)
  • Develop REST and SOAP API solutions for real-time and batch data synchronization
  • Build webhook listeners and event-driven integrations for real-time marketing triggers
  • Implement Marketing Cloud Connect (MCC) for Salesforce CRM integration
  • Develop custom integrations with third-party platforms (analytics, CDPs, payment gateways)
  • Create API authentication mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, JWT) and manage API credentials
  • Monitor API usage, rate limits, and performance to prevent throttling
  • Build error handling, logging, and retry mechanisms for robust integrations
  • Develop middleware solutions using MuleSoft, SnapLogic, or custom Node.js applications
  • Administer and manage Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) platform, including all studios and business units.
  • Manage user access, roles, permissions, and security policies across the platform
  • Configure and maintain platform settings, IP warming, sender authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and deliverability configurations
  • Design and build complex, multi-channel customer journeys using Journey Builder
  • Implement advanced journey logic including decision splits, wait activities, and engagement splits
  • Create triggered journeys based on real-time events and behavioral data
  • Optimize journey performance through A/B testing and analytics review

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years in marketing technology, digital marketing, AdTech and Salesforce Marketign Cloud technologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in AMPscript, SSJS, and Marketing Cloud APIs (REST & SOAP)
  • Strong experience with Automation Studio, Data Views, and SQL within SFMC
  • Working knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and relational databases
  • Experience building custom Journey Builder activities and server-side solutions
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and scripting tools (e.g., Node.js, Python) is a plus
  • Understanding of SFMC security best practices and governance
  • Exposure to Salesforce Data Cloud: understanding of data ingestion pipelines, calculated insights, and real-time audience activation
  • Familiarity with integrating Data Cloud outputs into Marketing Cloud journeys and personalization
  • Salesforce Data Cloud: Strong understanding of data ingestion, identity resolution, segmentation, and activation workflows. Support use case development and activation strategies using Data Cloud insights
  • Marketign Automation: Hands-on experience with platforms like Eloqua, Marketo, or similar enterprise tools
  • AdTech Stack: Proficiency with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), CM360, and paid media platform integrations (Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads)

  • Google Analytics Individual Qualification (GAIQ) / Google Analytics 4 Certification
