Sr Design Manager- Illustrator

Job Description

As a Senior Design Manager at our company, you will partner with and lead a team of talented designers to design and craft experiences for Adobe Illustrator, our industry-leading graphic design tool. Your role will involve inspiring, organizing, and nurturing a team of designers to create inviting, simple, and accessible experiences for the modern, connected world. The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong design background and prior experience in leading design teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with Product, Research, Engineering, and Marketing teams to define key objectives and identify impactful features for development.
• Foster a creative and forward-thinking environment to build valuable solutions for users.
• Lead and empower a team of designers to create innovative and compelling experiences.
• Establish a collaborative environment that promotes deep partnerships with cross-functional teams and upholds a high standard for design quality.
• Advocate for a culture of research and validation to guide design decisions.
• Represent the team in influencing design and cross-functional leaders.

Qualifications Required:

• 10+ years of experience in the product design industry, with a track record of launching products that deliver delightful, innovative, and scalable solutions.
• Minimum 5 years of people management and leadership experience, including hiring, training, and developing designers at various skill levels.
• Proficiency in conducting research, presenting findings, and aligning design decisions with user insights and business goals.
• Experience working in large global teams with diverse components.
• Strong willingness to understand complex subject matter and advocate for the needs of diverse user groups.
• Strong emphasis on customer-centricity, accessibility, inclusion, and making sound design choices across functions.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
