OT Network Engineer – Automation & Cybersecurity

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced OT Network Engineer – Automation & Cybersecurity to join a leading industrial operations team.

This role is ideal for a technology professional with strong expertise in Operational Technology (OT) networks, industrial cybersecurity, firewalls, and critical infrastructure environments. You will play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing OT communication systems while ensuring high levels of reliability, performance, and cybersecurity across operational environments.

• Pay Rate: $70 - $90/hr (depends on level of experience)
• Location: Fort McMurray, AB (Must be a residence of FMM or willing to relocate)
• Shift: Monday to Friday | 8 hours day
• Job type: 6 months contract with high possibility of extension

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support OT communication networks and infrastructure
• Support new system installations, expansions, and upgrades while ensuring minimal disruption to operations
• Monitor and maintain network performance using system management and monitoring tools
• Configure and support industrial networking equipment, including firewalls and related security technologies
• Troubleshoot network, communication, and system issues and implement effective solutions
• Participate in after-hours on-call support as required
• Perform preventative maintenance activities to maximize system reliability and uptime
• Commission and deploy new OT systems and network equipment
• Support cybersecurity initiatives and ensure compliance with OT security standards and best practices
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and network diagrams
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and IT teams to support critical infrastructure

Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 8 years of experience in network administration and firewall management
• Extensive experience supporting Operational Technology (OT) networks
• Strong knowledge of industrial networking and communication systems
• Experience configuring and maintaining firewalls in industrial environments
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices within OT environments
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and implementing network infrastructure
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong expertise in OT networking and industrial infrastructure
• Safety-focused professional with a commitment to operational excellence
• Excellent troubleshooting and technical support abilities
• Effective communicator who can work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
• Proactive mindset with a focus on reliability, security, and continuous improvement
• Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
