Job Description

Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Specialist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Regulatory Compliance Specialist to serve as a product compliance expert in the development of aquatic products and solutions.

This role involves both individual contributions and team leadership, with responsibilities including technical understanding of required agency standards during the design, development, and prototyping of pool products. The Specialist will also act as a direct interface and facilitator between internal development teams and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the owner of internal lab accreditations, processes, and procedures to ensure continued success and conformance to applicable regulatory standards.
  • Successfully host compliance auditors during facility audits at any site as required.
  • Work across company functional organizations to ensure project success regarding regulatory compliance.
  • Drive deliverables and deadlines within a well-planned and documented timeline.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all levels in the organization and external regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor and adjust projects by considering changing priorities and resources to achieve project goals.
  • Inform engineering teams of regulatory issues during the design process.
  • Develop and implement pre-compliance test plans, and coordinate testing at both internal and external laboratories to comply with UL, CSA, IEC, NSF, and other international regulatory standards.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of regulatory compliance experience.
  • Ability to read technical documents, drawings, and print specifications.
  • Proficient in interpreting standards and requirements, with NSF50 experience being a plus.
  • Experience in safety and product regulatory compliance, managing and leading compliance engineering projects.
  • Technical knowledge of electronic/hydraulic designs, especially with pumps and control systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Sciences, or 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Capable of gaining consensus across a wide variety of stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve business objectives.
  • Ability to exercise leadership, diplomacy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of UL, CSA, IEC, NSF, CE, RoHS, and other international standards.
  • Prefer knowledge of UL 1081, UL 1563, UL 778, UL 676, UL 508 and their Canadian equivalents, NSF 50, IEC standards.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pool pumps, filters, lighting, control systems, and their related testing.
  • 5+ years of experience in safety and product regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership and team-building characteristics.
  • Ability to lead projects and conduct/facilitate meetings and presentations.
  • Strong personal work ethic with attention to detail.

Work Environment

The position offers a hybrid working environment with both onsite and remote work options available, providing flexibility and a dynamic work setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
