Kubernetes Platform Engineer
We are seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer to help design, deploy, and support container‑based infrastructure across a mix of environments, including cloud and on‑premise systems. This role works closely with application teams to ensure their services run reliably, securely, and efficiently on a shared Kubernetes platform.
You will play a key role in supporting application onboarding, improving deployment consistency, and maintaining the health and performance of Kubernetes clusters. Success in this role requires strong technical skills along with the ability to collaborate and communicate across teams.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with application teams to understand requirements and support deployment onto Kubernetes-based platforms
Design, implement, and maintain Kubernetes clusters supporting containerized and microservices-based applications
Assist internal and external teams with onboarding applications into the platform
Develop and maintain Helm charts and related deployment assets to support repeatable, consistent releases
Implement security best practices across Kubernetes environments
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize platform performance, scalability, and reliability
Support and improve CI/CD workflows related to containerized applications
Provide guidance and best practices for effective Kubernetes usage
Stay current with Kubernetes, containers, and related platform technologies
Skills & Qualifications
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience
Hands-on experience running Kubernetes in a production environment
Strong understanding of containers and Kubernetes (e.g., Docker, orchestration concepts)
Experience with scripting or automation (Bash, Python, or similar)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
Ability to translate application needs into Kubernetes configurations
Strong communication skills and comfort working with multiple teams
Active Secret security clearance
Nice to Have (Plus)
Master’s degree in a related technical field
Kubernetes certification (CKA, CKAD, CKS, or similar)
Experience with Kubernetes tools such as Helm, GitOps, service mesh, or monitoring platforms
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools
Experience working in cloud environments
Exposure to complex or regulated environments
Active TS/SCI clearance

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $95.00/hr.
