Senior Full-Charge Bookkeeper - Home Services (Plumbing / HVAC / Electrical)

Salary: $55,000-$65,000 per year (DOE)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full-Charge Bookkeeper to support our growing portfolio of companies. This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the CFO and is ideal for someone with strong accounting experience in the trades, home services, or construction industries.

Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain accurate financial records across multiple operating companies while delivering reliable job costing and gross margin reporting. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with bookkeeping for plumbing, HVAC, electrical, construction, or similar service-based businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping across multiple entities, including AP, AR, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Maintain accurate job costing and gross margin reporting, ensuring labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs are properly classified.
• Support multi-entity accounting and consolidated financial reporting.
• Reconcile payroll transactions and labor allocations from ADP payroll processing.
• Assist with cash management, deposits, and accounts payable scheduling.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
• Manage multi-state sales and use tax filings.
• Support integration of newly acquired businesses into company accounting systems.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation and strong internal controls.
• Collaborate with operations teams to ensure pricing, material costs, and accounting records remain aligned.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-charge bookkeeping experience.
• Prior experience in plumbing, HVAC, electrical, construction, or related trades industries.
• Strong job costing and gross margin reporting experience.
• Experience with multi-entity or multi-location accounting.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
• Experience working with ServiceTitan or similar field-service software (FieldEdge, Housecall Pro, etc.).
• Solid understanding of accrual accounting and month-end close processes.
• Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Familiarity with multi-state sales tax compliance.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceTitan accounting implementation experience.
• ADP payroll experience.
• Experience in PE-backed, acquisitive, or multi-location organizations.
• QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Experience preparing financial statements for lenders or investors.
