Role Overview:

The Network Operations Engineer – L2 will be responsible for managing and supporting core and branch network infrastructure. The role involves handling BAU operations, resolving escalations, ensuring compliance, and supporting network-related projects across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide L2 support for Core Network and Branch Network Operations.
• Monitor and manage network performance, availability, and uptime.
• Handle incident management, problem management, and escalations from L1 teams.
• Troubleshoot issues related to LAN, WAN, MPLS, VPN, routing, and switching.
• Ensure smooth functioning of branch connectivity and data center network operations.
• Support BAU activities, including configuration changes, patching, and upgrades.
• Participate in network implementation and migration projects.
• Ensure adherence to compliance, security policies, and audit requirements.
• Maintain proper documentation, network diagrams, and SOPs.
• Coordinate with vendors, ISPs, and internal stakeholders for issue resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.

Key Skills & Technical Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of Networking Concepts (TCP/IP, OSI Model)
• Hands-on experience with Routing & Switching (Cisco/Juniper preferred)
• Experience in MPLS, VPN (IPSec/SSL), Firewall, and Load Balancer
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, etc.)
• Understanding of network security and compliance standards
• Experience in branch network setup and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / IT / Networking or related field
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent preferred
