Intermediate Java Developer (multiple openings)

As an intermediate java developer, you'll play a vital role in enhancing customer and associate experiences by developing innovative applications that directly contribute to the success and growth of Best Buy Canada. We are currently hiring for a12-month fixed-term AND a permanent opportunity with our technology team. We practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions at our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes. Join our collaborative team as an intermediate java developer. What you’ll do as an intermediate java developer: Collaborate with engineers and product owners with a flexible, team-first mindset. Develop, test, debug, and demonstrate your work in an agile environment. Take initiatives in proposing and implementing application changes to address business needs Strengthen your leadership skills by giving technical direction to peers What we’re looking for: 3 to 5 years of experience with back-end development demonstrating proficiency with core development languages such as Java (J2EE, Spring Boot) Experience with API-led development and Microservices architecture Experience with relational and non-relational databases and SQL such as MSSQL, Oracle 12c+ Experience with DevOps practices, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Git, OpenShift, Kubernetes Docker), and deploying Java applications to cloud environments.
