Job Description
We are only hiring individual engineers. Agencies, firms, and intermediaries will not be considered.
This is not a passive role, but it is a growth opportunity.
We are looking for a React / Next.js engineer who wants to move beyond task-based work and grow into product ownership.
You will work closely with a senior team to turn ideas into working features and systems.
This role is ideal for someone who has built real projects and is ready to take the next step in responsibility.
We work globally and compensate in USD (~$1,000/month to start), with room to grow based on performance.
You should be comfortable building components, working with APIs, and learning quickly in a fast-moving environment.
If you are looking for a role where you can grow into ownership and product thinking, this is a strong fit.
If you prefer clearly defined tasks and step-by-step instructions, this role is not a fit.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Work with our Product and Client Vice President to understand the needs of the organization that wants to expand their digital effectiveness
- Work with evolving requirements and help turn them into structured features and solutions
- Build and extend applications using React / Next.js
- Implement data flows, integrations, and application logic
- Work with AWS-backed services (Amplify or equivalent)
- Help shape product direction based on real-world usage—not assumptions
- Contribute to systems that capture interactions, engagement, and insight
How We Evaluate This Role (Read Carefully)
We are intentionally filtering hard.
You are a strong fit if:
- You have contributed meaningfully to real applications (personal projects or production systems)
- You are comfortable working from incomplete or evolving direction
- You are starting to think in terms of systems, not just pages
- You’ve worked on projects where outcomes mattered more than features
You are not a fit if:
- You rely on detailed design files (Figma-driven execution)
- You’ve only worked on clearly scoped tickets or sprint tasks
- Your experience is primarily styling/UI without product ownership
- You need constant direction to move forward
Technical Expectations
- Strong proficiency in React and Next.js
- Ability to handle application logic, state, and data flow
- Experience integrating with APIs and backend services
- Working knowledge of AWS (Amplify is a strong plus)
- Ability to debug and adapt in live, evolving environments
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS Amplify (auth, hosting, APIs)
- Familiarity with Cognito, Lambda, API Gateway, S3
- Exposure to analytics, event tracking, or behavioral data systems
- Experience working with mission-driven or social impact organizations
- This role is designed for growth—both in responsibility and compensation as you take on more ownership.
What This Role Is Not
- Not pixel-pushing
- Not design execution
- Not a ticket-processing role
- Not isolated frontend work
Engagement Model
- Project-based with ongoing opportunities
- Remote, flexible
- High autonomy, high accountability
How to Apply
Send
- 2-3 products YOU personally built (not team portfolios)
2. What YOU specifically implemented in each project
- A short note: “I confirm I am applying as an individual and not representing an agency.”
Include the word “builder” in your application so we know you read this.
