Role Overview
ZenaTech is seeking a Media Specialist to build and scale our presence across high-impact, niche media channels for our product and business areas—including podcasts, YouTube creators, and emerging digital platforms. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Development and working with the PR and Communications team, this role sits at the intersection of public relations, partnerships, marketing and thought leadership. This role will focus on identifying relevant audiences, securing speaking opportunities, and developing internal subject matter experts into effective external voices.
You will own the end-to-end process: from sourcing and pitching media opportunities, to scheduling and preparing spokespeople, to tracking performance and continuously improving results. This role directly contributes to building brand authority, expanding reach into targeted audiences, and turning internal subject matter expertise into a scalable growth channel.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Sourcing & Outreach
- Identify and prioritize relevant podcasts, YouTube channels, newsletters, and other digital media aligned with product/business area and target audiences
- Build and maintain a pipeline of micro- and mid-tier media opportunities
- Develop tailored outreach strategies and pitch angles for each channel
- Build long-term relationships with hosts, producers, and creators
Booking & Placement
- Secure speaking opportunities for internal subject matter experts across targeted media
- Match the right spokesperson to the right opportunity based on expertise and audience fit
- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and pre-show requirements & briefings
- Ensure consistent representation and company messaging across all appearances
Spokesperson Program Management
- Build and manage a roster of internal spokespeople (e.g., Business Development, Product Specialists, and subject matter leaders)
- Maintain speaker profiles, topic areas, and availability
- Help develop and deliver company training on media best practices, public company disclosure rules, storytelling, and on-air performance
- Ensure alignment with company key messaging, positioning, and brand voice
- Continuously coach and improve speaker effectiveness over time
Messaging & Content Alignment
- Help to translate company strategy, product positioning, and key narratives into clear talking points
- Prepare briefing materials for each appearance (audience, host, key messages, risks, goals)
- Ensure consistency across all external communications
- Collaborate with public relations, product, and leadership teams to refine messaging
Performance Tracking & Optimization
- Define and track KPIs (e.g., bookings, audience reach, engagement, inbound leads, content reuse)
- Analyze performance of media placements and spokesperson effectiveness
- Build reporting dashboards and provide regular insights to leadership
- Optimize outreach, messaging, and channel mix based on results
Content Amplification & Repurposing
- Work with marketing teams to repurpose appearances into clips, social content, and sales assets
- Maximize the value of each media placement across channels
- Support distribution strategies to extend reach and ROI
Qualifications & Experience
- 2 to 4 years in media relations, PR, partnerships, or marketing (B2B or tech preferred)
- Experience working with podcasts, influencers, or digital media ecosystems
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously
- Comfortable coaching internal teams and presenting feedback
- Data-driven mindset with experience tracking and reporting performance
- Familiarity with CRM, outreach tools, and analytics platforms is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
