Position Overview: In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain robust, scalable backend systems and applications. You will take ownership of code quality, performance, and reliability while contributing to automation, continuous improvement, and team mentorship. You will play a key role in delivering robust, customer-centric solutions while supporting production systems and improving development workflows. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and enhance Zema’s Web Applications, APIs and supporting services. Develop automation tools and utilities to improve team productivity and framework capabilities. Optimize application performance to enhance overall client experience. Participate in rigorous code reviews to ensure maintainability, performance, and scalability. Mentor and onboard new team members, promoting knowledge sharing and technical ownership. Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and delivery. Collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Troubleshoot production issues, resolve data-related problems, and support timely deployments. Required Qualifications Essential Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). 2–4 years of professional software development experience building and scaling backend applications. Strong proficiency in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Hibernate and SQL Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or MySQL. Proven ability to build reliable, high-performance software. Solid understanding of Git and version control best practices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance technical and business trade-offs. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment. Desirable Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms Familiarity with modern UI frameworks such as Vue.js or React Hands-on experience with large datasets and data ingestion tools. Familiarity with handling multiple data formats (JSON, CSV, PDF, Excel, etc.). Exposure to AI tools for development, monitoring, code review etc. Exposure to AI feature development Why Zema Global?
