Drupal/PHP Developer - Remote

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a dedicated Drupal/PHP Developer to support the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This REMOTE position involves upgrading several of our key applications to Drupal 10. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Drupal and PHP development, with proven experience in managing and executing software upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Upgrade and maintain applications in Drupal, transitioning from version 9 to 10.
• Update the PHP version of applications from 8.0 to 8.1, ensuring compatibility and stability.
• Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and implement functional changes required by the upgrade.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to optimize performance.
• Maintain documentation for system configurations, database processes, and upgrade protocols.
• Assist in the resolution of any compatibility issues between older and newer versions of software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or supplemented with related experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in web development with a strong focus on Drupal and PHP.
• Experience in migrating to Drupal 10 is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of PHP 8.0+ and experience in upgrading PHP versions.
• Familiarity with SQL databases, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and version control systems like Git.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to handle project management tasks.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Fully remote position
• $45/hr - $65/hr depending on years of experience
