This posting will be used to fill 1 full-time term position (until May 28th, 2027) working 75 hours bi-weekly. It will establish a 12-month eligibility list which may be used to fill similar positions.

Temporary assignments may be considered.

This job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.

Who we are

Population and Public Health, Evidence and Evaluation (PPHEE) team, part of the Innovation, Quality and Performance division, brings together a strong and coordinated team skilled at using data and local evidence collaboratively to support policy and decision making with the goal of improving the health and wellbeing of all Yukoners.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a highly skilled individual with exceptional oral and written communication abilities, adept at conveying complex information effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills and a solid background in health and health system data. Proficiency in manipulating and linking large, intricate datasets is essential. Familiarity with advanced statistical analysis techniques, particularly in a healthcare context, is highly desirable. A passion for continuous learning and a willingness to embrace new technologies are key attributes we value.

Essential qualifications

  • Post Secondary education in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Data Science, Statistics or related field
  • Proficiency with programming languages commonly used in data analysis, such as Python, R, or SQL
  • Experienced in designing, developing, and implementing data projects of medium to large scale
  • Experience working with advanced statistical analysis techniques and concepts, and applying them to data sets, ideally in a Health environment
