Lab Technician - Yashoda Hospital - Hitech City Unit

Role & responsibilities :

• Manage overall functioning of Serology & Microbiology sections, ensuring compliance with SOPs and quality standards.
• Supervise timely receipt, verification, registration, and processing of IP/OP samples with accurate documentation.
• Perform and oversee tests (serology, cultures, stains, AFB, etc.) as per standard laboratory protocols.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting, prioritizing urgent cases and validating abnormal results through repeat checks.
• Communicate critical/alert results to clinicians and nursing staff with proper documentation and acknowledgment.
• Monitor outsourced tests, follow up on pending reports, and ensure timely report dispatch.
• Maintain internal and external quality control programs for all tests and analyzers.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, sterilization, and proper functioning as per manufacturer guidelines.
• Ensure proper storage and temperature control for samples, reagents, and hazardous materials.
• Manage inventory, prevent wastage, track near-expiry items, and coordinate with suppliers for uninterrupted supply.
• Ensure laboratory safety, biomedical waste management, cleanliness, and monitoring of occupational hazards.
• Prepare daily/monthly MIS, resolve operational issues, provide technical guidance, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
