The role is responsible for client quoting, supplier sourcing, production planning, and supporting on-time order fulfillment. A successful candidate will have at least 7 years of experience in a CNC machining quoting environment. The position will require competencies that include CAD proficiency, CNC machining/manufacturing experience (which includes multiple axis milling, turning, welding, grinding, EDM etc.), experience communicating CNC designs for manufacturability feedback, costing, and sound technical communication aptitude.  Day to Day Responsibilities: <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Analyze engineering models/drawings to define the sequence of manufacturing operations to ensure that the design intent and component quality can be achieved.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Make proper estimations, taking into consideration such factors as materials, tooling, manufacturing times, inspection times, and types of equipment required.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Work closely with Machinists, Quality, Engineering, Management, and other team members to successfully satisfy the end customer.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Experience with sourcing material and finishes.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">CNC machining/manufacturing cost estimating experience on prototype, low volume, and high-volume quantities.</li> </ul>  Must Have Knowledge of: <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Multitude of CNC machining/manufacturing technologies</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Must have experience and/or extensive knowledge with programming and set up of CNC machines (3/4/5 axis milling, CNC lathes, live tooling lathes, Swiss machines etc) and simple custom tooling knowledge.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Preferable knowledge of welding, grinding, wire EDM, assemblies, finishing etc.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Protocols, standards, technologies, and machining applications.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Reviewing customer RFQs to determine material requirements, processing and job routing.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Communicating with customers to accurately define requirements and expectations.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Work with outside vendors/services to achieve the best possible prices and solutions.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Consolidating all outside costs and internal costs associated with process time in engineering, manufacturing, finishing, and QC.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Creating detailed quote packages for final review.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Managing quote logs daily and KPI tracking</li> </ul>  Ability to: <ul> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Interrogate engineering solid models, drawings and is familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Manipulate / modify solid models.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Provide technical support to machinists and process engineers during CNC manufacturing operations.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Demonstrate excellent organizational discipline.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Communicate effectively, both verbally, and in writing.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Effectively review and analyze DFM (design for manufacturing) problems.</li> <li style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Operate effectively in a team environment.</li> </ul> The estimated base salary range for new hires into this role is $86,000 - $111,000 annually + commission depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location.  We also offer a competitive benefits package, including 401(k) match, medical, dental and vision insurance; life and disability insurance; generous paid time off including vacation, sick leave, floating and fixed holidays, maternity and bonding leave; EAP, other wellbeing resources; and much more. #LI-Hybrid <div class="content-conclusion">Xometry is an equal opportunity employer.
