Electrician - Sub Contractor

In this Electrician role, you’ll lead solar system installations, from grid tie-ins to off-grid solutions, ensuring high-quality electrical work for residential. Your expertise will be vital in supporting our sustainable energy initiatives and delivering exceptional service to our clients.

SERVICE EXPECTATIONS

• Interpret project plans and single-line diagrams to complete solar installations in accordance with applicable electrical standards
• Install and configure grid-tie, net metering, and off-grid solar systems
• Complete electrical upgrades including panel replacements, meter base upgrades, backup generators, and EV charger installations
• Troubleshoot system alerts and service-related issues in coordination with manufacturers
• Secure and manage required electrical permits while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and regulations
• Fosters clear communication with Xolar members and support timely project completion
• Follow all job site health and safety requirements including proper use of safety equipment
• Ensure clean and professional work on clients properties
• Maintain accurate records of materials, fuel, expenses, and project updates for reimbursement and internal tracking purposes
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality workmanship and adherence to Xolar installation standards
• Update company CRM and internal communication systems as required

CONTRACTOR ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Valid certification(s): Electrical contractor license in good standing (Master/Red Seal Electrician), Working at Heights/Fall Protection, and WHMIS
• Maintain a minimum of $2,000,000 in general liability insurance. Xolar can assist with facilitating insurance if needed.
• Valid workplace safety insurance (WSIB or provincial equivalent)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and access to the professional-grade tools and equipment required for installs
• Experience in residential solar installations or related electrical/construction work
• Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and manufacturer installation requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in solar energy industry and familiar with related regulations
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented, and high-growth environment
