Junior Network Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated Junior Network Engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. In this role, you will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our network systems. You will work closely with senior engineers to ensure maximum network uptime and security, providing a stable foundation for our company’s operations.

This is an entry-to-mid-level position perfect for someone who has a solid grasp of networking fundamentals and is looking to grow their skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Support: Assist in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, and access points).
• Monitoring: Monitor network performance and integrity using tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark, or Nagios; report anomalies to senior staff.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate diagrams of network topology and keep hardware/software inventories up to date.
• Security: Assist in implementing network security measures (e.g., configuring ACLs, updating firewall rules, and managing VPN access).
• Troubleshooting: Resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 connectivity issues for local and remote users.
• Upgrades: Participate in scheduled maintenance windows to perform firmware updates and hardware replacements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• Foundational Knowledge: Deep understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.
• Certifications: CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or CompTIA Network+ is highly preferred.
• Hardware Familiarity: Basic experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Aruba networking equipment.
• Problem Solving: A methodical approach to troubleshooting and the ability to think logically under pressure.

Preferred "Bonus" Skills

• Familiarity with Network Automation (Python, Ansible).
• Basic understanding of cloud networking (AWS VPCs, Azure VNets).
• Knowledge of Wireless LAN (WLAN) controllers and site surveys.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
