Job Description
Woodberry Kitchen, the James Beard award winning restaurant, is looking for experienced and dynamic servers to join our team in the Tavern, an intimate 28-seat restaurant built on a no-compromise approach to working with local regenerative farms.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the ingredients from growers in the Mid-Atlantic and a thoughtfully sourced beverage program. The schedule for this role is Wednesday to Saturday 3.45pm-11pm and Sunday 8.45am-4pm. Fine dining experience is preferred. The role involves driving the guest experience, bringing energy and warmth to the table, and high-caliber hospitality skills.
Responsibilities
- Dining room set-up and breakdown
- Provide warm hospitality and efficient service while managing multiple tables at a time
- Clear tables as needed, keep drinks filled, and anticipate and respond to guest needs
- Communicate guest requests to kitchen and bar staff and/or management
- Break down the dining room and do post-shift sidework
- Adhere to all policies as provided by HR regarding staff disciplinary action, onboarding, anti-discrimination, harassment, ethical behavior, and any other policy defined in the Handbook or otherwise
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with the team and guests
Qualifications
- 3+ years of server experience, preferably in a high-volume restaurant
- Ability to effectively carry dishes and cocktail trays
- Friendly, professional demeanor with guests
- Ability to take direction and to work and collaborate as a team member
- Ability to be on your feet for significant stretches of time and to lift approximately 50 lb
- Enthusiasm for delicious, locally-sourced food is a plus!
