Job Description
The Williamsburg Christadelphian Foundation (https://www.wcfoundation.org) is a Christian nonprofit organization rebranding a new YouTube channel with a singular mission: to create faith-oriented short films that speak not to the mind, but to the heart.
These are short films that won't preach or persuade, but tell deeply human, emotive stories that stir viewers’ hearts — a quiet encouragement toward faith.
We are looking for one person to build this from the ground up.
This is a contractor role — but one that demands full commitment. You'll own the channel from the ground up, lead every creative decision, and manage a dedicated annual budget. While you're free to maintain other projects, this work is substantial enough to be a primary focus, and we're looking for someone ready to treat it that way.
We are searching for the right candidate who will consider this a vocational role in service of a greater mission, not just a career advancement opportunity.
This is a rare chance for proper support for the right person who sees it as their mission to spread the gospel and good news through artistry and storytelling.
It is ideally for someone already with established professional experience in the entertainment industry, and is now looking to lead something more meaningful and purposeful.
__
The Work:
The faith-based media landscape is too often doctrinally rigid or emotionally manipulative. We’re building something different.
These films will not lead with theology or doctrine. Instead, they will lead with heartfelt and personal stories — real ones that carry the depth of humanity that others immediately recognize as true.
The goal is to tell stories deeply human and resonant that they put wind in the sails of new faith seekers - empowers viewers to ask their own questions, affirm their own longing, and follow their curiosity towards faith in something beyond themselves.
These films will live primarily on YouTube, serving as a creative front door to the Williamsburg Christadelphian Foundation's broader community — reaching skeptics, the spiritual-but-not-religious, the lapsed, the curious, and anyone who has ever sensed that there is more to life than worldly ambitions.
__
The Role:
You will establish the production infrastructure — workflow, gear, creative standards — and develop original series concepts from the ground up.
You will be inheriting an existing channel and elevating its quality to a standard befitting the mission.
Over time, you will cast, produce, shoot, edit, and gradually build and lead a small team around you.
For the first 6 months, you will be working in close creative partnership with The Insight (https://theinsight.art) — our creative partner specializing in soulful and spiritual storytelling, with a track record of growing global brands to millions of subscribers and hundreds of millions of views.
They will serve as your creative coach and strategic guide as you build for the first 6 months. As such, this is an opportunity to grow in your personal filmmaking and digital media skillset, as a storyteller aiming to speak to modern audiences in a culturally relevant way.
This is a hands-on role that will grow into a leadership one.
__
Day to day, you will:
- Produce and execute episodes (for the first six months, guided by The Insight)
- Identify, cast, and build relationships with subjects whose stories carry genuine depth
- Travel to find and capture stories on location
- Direct, shoot, and edit your own work to a premium standard
- Manage production budgets with care and independence
- Build toward leading a small creative team as the body of work grows
Who This Is For:
- You are an experienced filmmaker — producer, director, editor — with a real body of work behind you. You know how to move through the full production pipeline completely independently. You've managed budgets, led shoots, delivered work that people remember.
- You are drawn to collaboration, to being guided as much as to leading, and to building something that belongs to a mission larger than yourself.
- You have a living faith of your own within the Christian tradition (any denomination or expression is ok) with genuine faith curiosity of your own.
- We are looking for earnest, heartfelt storytellers who can speak and express from their soul – and someone who sincerely believes in the potency of narrative power to touch lives.
- The ideal candidate is emotionally intelligent, to make people feel safe enough to tell the truth on camera – and to pull out the essence of powerful faith stories and testimonies with nuance, thoughtfulness, and a high level of poetic craftsmanship.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience across producing, directing, and editing — documentary, human interest, or values-driven content strongly preferred
- The ability to own the full production pipeline independently
- Proven budget management experience
- Comfort with travel and location-based production
- Leadership experience or clearly demonstrated leadership instincts
- A faith practice within the Christian tradition
- Deep alignment with artful, non-evangelical, human-centered storytelling
- Attuned to younger audiences (under 40)
Compensation & Structure:
- $105,000–$120,000, commensurate with experience
- Contractor, fully remote
- A dedicated annual budget to support to build something that lasts
