Overview
WildBrain Studios is looking for a Senior Animator, 2D to join our team!
Reporting to the Producer, you'll be responsible for developing 2D expression sheets and 2D animation tests for CG characters to prove out their character designs before we’ve built 3D assets. These assignments will also be the first tests to explore character and animation style for the show. This is the perfect position for someone who loves to problem-solve and use their creativity to create the foundation for character design and performance on a show.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
What You’ll Do:
- Consistently complete complex and advanced assigned tasks on time, with attention to detail and minimal oversight.
- Understand the form in 3D and apply that knowledge to their 2D work.
- Contribute to the development of the characters and animation style of the show.
- Report to the Animation Supervisors and Animation Director to create high quality expression sheets and 2D animation tests.
- Collaborate with the Animation Director, Production Designer, and Director to identify and solve problems, both technically and artistically.
- Apply direction and guidance given to enhance work and performance.
What You’ll Bring
- Prior 2D animation experience.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
- Advanced professional communication and time management skills.
- Advanced understanding of animation principles - acting, staging, posing, weight, timing and storytelling as well as staying on model.
- Advanced proficiency using 2D applications for expression sheets and animation tests, i.e. Photoshop and Toon Boom Harmony.
- Flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team.
This is a Union position and the terms and conditions of employment are covered by a collective agreement.

Pay Range
$1324 - 1375 CAD per week based on a 40-hour work week.
