IT Data Analyst, Atlanta, GA

Position Summary:

The opportunity:

The IT Data Analyst will provide technical and functional support to our Consumer Business Segment through researching, advising, and implementing data solutions to specific business performance goals and needs. The IT Data Analyst is responsible for learning our business partner’s, goals, and priorities to develop and recommend data solutions to drive critical business decisions. The IT Data Analyst will have business acumen and will need working knowledge of database management systems, data warehousing and the ability to interpret and communicate insights from data to support decision-making. As a crucial member of our IT department, you will play a key role in analyzing and interpreting complex datasets to drive informed business decisions.

How you will impact WestRock:

• Conduct in-depth analysis of structured and unstructured data sets.
• Develop and implement data models, algorithms, and statistical analyses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide actionable insights.
• Utilize data analytics tools (e.g., Palantir, Alteryx, Power BI, SQL) for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
• Create visually compelling dashboards and reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency.

What you need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree is Data & Analytics, Computer Information Systems with a concentration in data or related area of study
• 3-7 years of IT and/or data analytics experience
• Competency in data analytics tools (Palantir, Alteryx, Power BI, SQL)
• Business or systems analyst in a high visibility role working on technology projects
• Experience facilitating requirements gathering sessions
• Internal client-facing engagement/working relationships
• Strong process and analytical skills
• Defining and designing business processes and workflows across various order to cash and supply chain functions and stakeholders in the organization
• Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative problem-solving skills, ability to listen to and understand needs across diverse stakeholders at various levels of the organization
• Possess a strong understanding of capability delivery using Agile Methodology - familiarity with concepts of Agile and Waterfall
• Strong knowledge and use of business analyst practices and processes
• Thorough understanding of business processes.
• Proficient in documenting Visio flows
• Knowledge and use of Software Development Lifecycle methodologies
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

• BA/BS with a concentration in Data Analytics, strongly preferred
• Experience of Microsoft Fabric data analytics platform
• Experience being the data analyst on multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience in manufacturing environment
• Industry experience: paper mill
