About You:

You have a great way of making both colleagues and clients feel confident in your abilities because you are kind, happy, and committed. You’re the type of person who can build relationships easily, someone who makes people feel comfortable and listened to. You have emotional maturity and stability; you understand there will occasionally be difficult situations involving sick and hurt pets and stressed clients.

You have great attention to detail. You can manage your time well and know how to set priorities, and you get the work done each day. You can stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment and maintain focus even when distractions are present. You work extremely well in a team and can also self-direct on individual tasks.

You're proficient on the computer and comfortable on the telephone handling phone shoppers and answering inquiries. You know when to rely on your team and how to ask for help if you don't know the answer. You have an excellent handle of the English language and understand basic medical terms will be needed in discussions with clients and other staff.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with either four 9-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, with one/two Saturday per month (rotating through shifts evenly with other CSRs). The work you’ll be doing includes the following:

• Answering phone calls and addressing emails; checking all messages and faxes
• Scheduling and confirming appointments
• Receiving orders and sorting between in-hospital stock vs. special orders for clients
• Restocking food and supply shelves as needed
• Completing client invoices and reviewing for appropriate charges
• Handling financial transactions; debit, credit, cash, financing companies, insurance payments
• Process client intake forms; getting accurate medical histories
• Filling out vaccine certificates, International Health Certificates
• Explaining treatment plans and charges to clients
• Preparing medication for dispensing
• General cleaning duties as needed
• Transferring/obtaining medical records to/from other hospitals
• Other duties as assigned to assist with hospital operations

Preference will be given to those with previous veterinary experience and/or those with experience in a notably fast-paced environment. Compensation will vary depending on experience.

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
