Position Summary
We’re seeking a strategic and customer-focused Email & SMS Customer Lifecycle Specialist to join our team here at the Weed Man corporate office – the fastest growing lawn care company in North America! This is an exciting time for our organization as we continue scaling our digital ecosystem, enhancing our CRM capabilities, and investing in lifecycle marketing to drive deeper customer engagement and retention across our franchise network.
We’re looking for a data-driven marketer with hands-on experience in email and SMS who understands how to build meaningful customer journeys, optimize performance, and turn insights into action. This role will play a critical part in shaping how we communicate with prospects and customers throughout their lifecycle—from lead to loyal advocate.
This role will report to our Director of Marketing, Paid Media and work cross-functionally with our CRM, creative, digital, and franchise teams to bring lifecycle strategies to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute lifecycle marketing strategies across email and SMS to drive lead conversion, upsells, customer engagement, and retention
- Build and optimize automated customer journeys, including lead nurture, onboarding, upsells, renewal campaigns, win-back programs, and review/referral flows
- Manage day-to-day execution of campaigns within our marketing automation platform, including segmentation, scheduling, QA, and deployment
- Leverage customer data, behavioural triggers, and segmentation to deliver highly personalized and relevant messaging at scale
- Analyze campaign performance (open rates, click-through rates, conversion, revenue impact) and continuously optimize for improved engagement and ROI
- Partner with internal teams to align lifecycle communications with broader marketing initiatives, promotions, and seasonal strategies
- Collaborate with franchisees to build email marketing schedules that align with market seasonality and local prospect/customer timelines
- Establish testing roadmaps across subject lines, creative, send times, frequency, and messaging strategies
- Maintain and improve data hygiene and segmentation strategies to ensure accuracy, deliverability, and compliance
- Build and maintain reporting dashboards that clearly communicate performance, insights, and opportunities
- Ensure all communications comply with applicable regulations (CASL, TCPA) and best practices for email and SMS marketing
- Stay current on lifecycle marketing trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies to continuously elevate our approach
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in email and/or SMS marketing, lifecycle marketing, or CRM-focused roles
- Experience with marketing automation platforms (ActiveCampaign preferred; experience with similar tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc. is a plus)
- Strong understanding of customer journey mapping, segmentation strategies, and lifecycle marketing best practices
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret campaign performance data and translate insights into actionable improvements
- Experience with A/B testing and optimization across messaging, creative, and timing
- Familiarity with deliverability best practices, list management, and compliance requirements (CASL, TCPA)
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on executional excellence and quality assurance
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally across teams
