The Waymo Driver has provided over ten million rider-only trips, enabled by its experience autonomously driving over 100 million miles on public roads and tens of billions in simulation across 15+ U.S. states.</p></div><p><em>In this hybrid role, you will report to a Director of Global Place Workplace &amp; eMobility</em></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>You will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the smart buildings design and implementation of automated test scripts and standardized workflows for EV charging features, from initial development through utility energization and final customer activation.</li> <li>Act as the primary technical lead ensuring seamless integration between vehicle mechatronic embedded controls, charging hardware, and cloud-based mobile applications.</li> <li>Define and enforce rigorous quality standards and testing strategies, integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality charging infrastructure.Define and enforce rigorous quality standards and testing strategies, integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous delivery of high-quality charging infrastructure.</li> <li>Identify process inefficiencies and lead implementation of automation virtualization opportunities to reduce manual testing and streamline commissioning activities.</li> <li>Collaborate with product managers, developers, and feature owners while managing external commissioning vendors to ensure all site technical requirements are met.</li> <li>Adhere to and enforce all safety precautions, particularly regarding high-voltage systems and on-vehicle testing, treating safety as the top priority.</li> <li>Guide others in best practices, frameworks, and troubleshooting methodologies for complex electrification systems.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>You have:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business, or a related technical field.</p> </li> <li> <p>5+ years of relevant experience with automation/scripting, specifically with high proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks like Autobot or similar.</p> </li> <li>Extensive technical experience with electrification features, EV charging infrastructure deployment, and the commissioning lifecycle.</li> <li>Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps, along with version control systems like Git.</li> <li>Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects that involve both hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) bench work and in-vehicle testing.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to communicate technical issues, project status, and strategic recommendations to leadership and external partners.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>We prefer:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering or a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).</li> <li>8+ years of test automation experience with a focus on web/mobile applications and vehicle-to-grid integration.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostic tools such as INCA, MDA, CANalyzer, or Vehicle Spy.</li> <li>Understanding of Vehicle Electrical Architecture (e.g., VIP, SDV) and serial data buses including LIN, CAN, GMLAN, and Ethernet.</li> <li>High voltage or electrified vehicle safety training and hands-on experience with on-vehicle serial protocols.</li> <li>Certification in Quality Assurance and/or Test Automation (e.g., Six Sigma, ISTQB) and experience with JIRA/Problem Resolution Tracking Systems (PRTS).</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Travel Arrangements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>This role requires travel approximately 25% of the time.
