Additional Details: This is a Toronto based opportunity with a 3 day in office expectation. Wayfair Data Science is the engine that powers an enterprise obsessed with data. The Customer Technology team builds and scales the platforms that enable Wayfair to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Join Wayfair’s Customer technology team to protect and optimize the foundational layer of our customer experience. Responsiveness and stability are critical drivers of organic discoverability, conversion, and customer trust. You will build the monitoring frameworks, experimental guardrails, and data products that ensure every customer has a lightning-fast journey. You’ll work cross-functionally with Engineering and Product teams to translate technical performance signals into actionable business insights that empower decision-making across the company. What You’ll Do: Track Platform Health & Performance: Drive the daily monitoring of system health & speed across mobile and web platforms. You will identify performance trends and regressions, providing clear feedback to engineering teams to ensure a high-quality customer experience. Build Scalable Data Pipelines: Design and maintain data architectures that connect technical performance signals with customer behavior. You will help create a unified view of the customer journey and close data gaps across platforms. Support Data-Driven Experimentation: Implement technical guardrails within our experimentation platform. You will analyze how new features impact the overall user experience and platform responsiveness, providing data-backed recommendations to product stakeholders. Deep-Dive Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses to understand the technical drivers of site performance. You will attribute changes to specific features or services and identify opportunities to improve the customer funnel. Drive Strategic Visibility: Develop high-visibility dashboards to track our technical roadmap. You will link technical optimizations to key business metrics, quantifying how performance improvements drive conversion and customer growth. What You’ll Need: Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field). Experience in an analytical or data science role (internship experience included). Hands-on proficiency in SQL (BigQuery/Spark) for large-scale data manipulation and Python for data analysis and pipeline automation. Foundational understanding of experimental design (A/B testing) and statistical analysis. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, or similar) to communicate complex data simply. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical (Engineering) and non-technical (Product) stakeholders. Demonstrated curiosity and interest in Artificial Intelligence and its applications in analytics and business Preferred Qualifications Who You Are: A Data Storyteller: You can navigate messy datasets to find a clear narrative and explain the "so what" to your partners.
