The Internship Experience

About the Fleet Maintenance Team
This internship is part of the (heavy truck) fleet maintenance crew-a team known for prioritizing safety first, a commitment to sustainability, innovative thinking, and a commitment to sustainability. You'll get to explore various projects, create reports, help improve downtime, open, close and assign jobs, learn how things work behind the scenes, and help WM drive purpose in everything we do. Whether you're diving into data, pitching ideas for process improvement, or helping make things run smoother, what you do will matter-and we want to hear what you think.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Uses problem solving skills, determines problems, and understand fundamental parts of the problem.
- Conducts analysis as directed; prepares and delivers insights and recommendations based on analysis.
- Synthesizes findings and draws conclusions from analyses and makes oral/written recommendations to supervisor and/or manager.
- Executes tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements.
- Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.
- May have the opportunity to travel to other WM locations on occasion; no overnights.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Interns must have a High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and be pursuing or have recently completed a Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in a field of study relevant to the internship.

The expected base pay for this office/on-site position is $23.00/hour. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
