Role and Responsibilities of Walmart Senior Data Scientist:

Walmart Customer Product team, you will analyze large-scale clickstream and behavioral data to inform product strategy, identify friction points, and optimize customer experiences across mobile, online grocery, curbside pickup, and delivery.

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to drive data-informed decisions that enhance the Walmart+ member experience.
  • Analyze user journeys using clickstream and behavioral data to identify pain points and opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform funnel analysis, conversion analysis, and impact sizing to influence prioritization and roadmap planning.
  • Define and monitor product success metrics aligned with business and customer goals.
  • Design and analyze A/B tests and apply causal inference methods for observational data where experimentation is not feasible.
  • Conduct statistical power analysis and hypothesis testing to guide experimentation and decision-making.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports using visualization tools like Tableau to track product performance.
  • Leverage SQL and scripting languages (Python or R) for deep analytical work.
  • Apply AI/ML techniques for behavioral analysis, user segmentation, and optimization opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge in data science, machine learning, optimization models, or a Master’s in Machine Learning, Computer Science, IT, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Econometrics.
  • Experience with Python, Spark, Scala, or R through assessments or applied projects.
  • Familiarity with open-source frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Experience in creating inclusive digital experiences, applying WCAG 2.2 AA standards, and integrating accessibility best practices.
