Position Summary...
What you'll do...
Data Ventures is on a mission to unlock the full value of Walmart's data by
developing and productizing B2B data initiatives. We are seeking a Staff Product
Manager to lead the development of our most critical horizontal application
capabilities. This role is for a proven deep individual contributor who thrives on
solving architecturally complex, multi-product problems that directly impact the
velocity and stability of the entire organization. You will be the product owner
expert for our core platform systems, responsible for driving adoption, managing
technical debt, and making strategic product decisions that proactively mitigate
future scaling challenges (technical, operational, and organizational). This role is
about setting the standard for product excellence and ensuring our foundational
systems can support massive enterprise growth.
What You'll Do
- You will define and deliver solutions for the most technically ambiguous and architecturally complex horizontal product mandates, often requiring integration and alignment across 3+ independent engineering teams.
- You'll serve as the product expert, working with Product Management groups and Engineering Leads to create clear, incentive-driven adoption paths and integration standards for your capabilities across downstream product teams.
- You will partner directly with engineering to create, maintain, and prioritize the product roadmap that balances new feature development with the critical work of managing technical debt, improving reliability, and driving efficiency.
- You will orchestrate the go-to-market readiness for all new capabilities, meticulously defining the collateral, documentation, training, and operational playbooks required to ensure a successful launch with immediate, high-quality adoption and minimal post-launch issues.
- You will act as a resource and mentor for Senior and Mid-level Product Managers on topics like systems thinking, managing cross-product dependencies, and technical communication.
What You'll Bring
- You should have 6+ Years of Product Management Experience, including a distinguished track record of successfully launching and scaling horizontal platforms, APIs, or core application capabilities in a large-scale B2B or Enterprise environment.
- A candidate will demonstrate an intrinsic persistence and a whatever-it-takes approach to ensure the successful delivery and adoption of their product, navigating organizational roadblocks and technical challenges.
- Expect candidates to possess Enterprise Business Acumen, including a strong understanding of how B2B and large enterprises operate, such as typical sales cycles, organizational dynamics, and the complexities of internal adoption and change management.
- You will show evidence of Strategic Design Partnership, with proven experience in partnering with Design and UX Research and knowing precisely when and how to effectively utilize their outputs (e.g., journey maps, prototypes, usability studies) at critical stages of the product planning lifecycle to drive feature adoption and usability.
- Expect success in managing dependencies, including negotiating and managing product backlogs with multiple dependent product teams, driving alignment through clear product documentation, data, and influence.
- A candidate must demonstrate Execution Focus with Strategic Foresight, with the ability to make proactive product decisions today (e.g., specific architectural choices or early investments) that mitigate large-scale technical or organizational bottlenecks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Product Management in fast-growing, product-led tech startups, demonstrating agility and comfort with high-velocity environments.
- Expertise in Internal Tools, including experience defining and improving the internal customer journey for engineers and product teams consuming platform capabilities.
- Experience in data governance or compliance, including direct product managing core horizontal capabilities related to data security, privacy, access control, or regulatory compliance at enterprise scale.
- A history of Product Led Growth for Internal Products, with proven ability todrive the organic adoption of horizontal capabilities using internal marketing, education, and excellent user experience for developers.
