Channel Manager-Pets
WAHL India is looking for a highly driven and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as a Channel Manager – Pets. This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives in building businesses, driving growth, and creating strong channel partnerships across India.
The role will be responsible for leading and scaling WAHL India's pets business through a Master Distributor model, while ensuring strong market expansion, effective execution, and consistent sales growth through partner-led sales teams.
Reporting: Sales Manager -India
Location: Mumbai (Goregaon)
Key Responsibilities
Business Ownership Take complete ownership of the Pets category business across India, including sales planning, execution, forecasting, and growth delivery.
Channel StrategyManagement Develop and implement the Master Distributor model for pan-India distribution, ensuring strong market reach, efficient supply chain flow, and effective channel execution.
Distributor Network Expansion Enable the Master Distributor to build and manage a strong network of sub-distributors and retailers across regions to improve coverage and market penetration.
Sales Team Enablement Partner closely with the Master Distributor's sales team to:
- Set sales targets and KPIs
- Improve productivity, reach, and market coverage
- Conduct regular product and sales capability training
- Support category development initiatives
Market Development Identify and build new growth opportunities across channels such as pet shops, grooming salons, veterinary clinics, and e-commerce.
Performance Tracking Monitor primary and secondary sales, stock movement, distributor performance, and market coverage. Take timely corrective action to ensure targets are met.
Stakeholder Management Serve as the key point of contact for all Pets business-related matters, ensuring strong alignment between WAHL India and channel partners.
BrandTrade Initiatives Work closely with internal and external stakeholders on trade marketing initiatives, schemes, promotions, and activations to increase visibility and drive off-take.
Key Requirements
- 10+ years of overall experience, with at least 5 years in the pets category
- Strong experience in GT channel management
- Proven experience in working with or managing a Master Distributor model
- Strong understanding of distributor networks and secondary sales management
- Commercially strong with the ability to work independently and take ownership
- Experience in influencing and managing external sales teams without direct reporting relationships
- Excellent communication, training, and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to travel extensively across India
