DevOps Engineer

Job Summary

The DevOps Engineer will provide expertise in AWS cloud platforms, design, build, and support cloud environments for public health solutions. The role involves Linux operating system expertise, performance monitoring, security implementation, documentation, and system design. The engineer will also work with microservices, distributed application architecture, and DevOps tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in AWS cloud platform.
• Design, build, and support cloud environments for public health solutions.
• Provide expertise on Linux operating systems (e.g., Red-Hat) including installation, troubleshooting, hardening, and scripting for automation.
• Monitor and assess the performance of applications in a cloud environment.
• Participate in creating, testing, and implementing safeguards to maintain data integrity and protect against unauthorized access.
• Regularly review production logs, providing analysis and suggestions for proactive measures.
• Work with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology.
• Provide detailed documentation for system design, integration, configuration, development, and implementation activities.
• Develop and maintain system design models, technical documentation, and specifications for solutions in sustainment.
• Produce integration plans and inputs into configuration and development projects.
• Troubleshoot and tune production environments to improve application performance.
• Define and deploy systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on AWS.
• Design, maintain, and manage tools for automation of operational processes.
• Evaluate new technology alternatives and vendor products.
