Snowflake DBA

We are seeking a highly skilled Snowflake DBA to manage, optimize, and support our Snowflake cloud data platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Snowflake administration, performance tuning, security governance, and production support. This role will partner closely with Data Engineering, BI, and Cloud Infrastructure teams to ensure reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency of the Snowflake environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Administer and maintain Snowflake environments (Databases, Schemas, Warehouses, Roles, Users).

· Manage virtual warehouses including sizing, scaling, auto-suspend/resume, and cost optimization.

· Implement RBAC security models, masking policies, row access policies, and secure data sharing.

· Monitor Snowflake usage, performance, and costs using Account Usage views and resource monitors.

· Perform query performance tuning and warehouse optimization.

· Design and manage data loading processes using COPY INTO, stages, Snowpipe, and file formats.

· Implement Streams, Tasks, Zero Copy Cloning, and Time Travel for operational efficiency.

· Support production incidents, root cause analysis, and performance troubleshooting.

· Collaborate with Data Engineering teams on ELT pipelines (Matillion/Fivetran/ADF/Airflow).

· Automate Snowflake deployments using CI/CD tools and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).

· Manage backup/recovery strategies and data retention policies.

· Maintain documentation and operational runbooks.
