VR Real Estate Advisors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Residential Leasing Consultant to join our team.. This is a full-time position with a key role in several communities on the Outer Banks of NC and ongoing leasing operations.
Position Overview
The Residential Leasing Consultant will be the first point of contact for future residents and a vital part of our on-site team, responsible for managing all aspects of leasing operations to ensure high occupancy, regulatory compliance, and exceptional resident experiences. This role works closely with management and ownership to support revenue goals and long-term asset performance. This is a full-time, on-site position for a Residential Leasing Consultant located in Kill Devil Hills, NC. In this role, you will manage rental applications, communicate leasing terms, handle lease administration, ensure resident retention through excellent service, and resolve tenant inquiries. You will also play a vital role in fostering tenant satisfaction and maintaining positive relationships within the community while supporting day-to-day property operations in a professional setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage several apartment buildings along with townhomes
- Manage leasing agreements to ensure compliance with North Carolina real estate laws and requirements
- Conduct property tours and engage prospective residents with strong sales and customer service skills
- Manage application processing, lease execution, renewals, and move-ins
- Prepare and submit monthly revenue and leasing reports
- Conduct market research to ensure rental rates remain competitive and aligned with market conditions
- Maintain accurate records in AppFolio or related property management software
- Respond to resident inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Collaborate with property management and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations and resident satisfaction
- When necessary, provide oversight of the eviction process, including coordination with attorneys and court proceedings as required
Required Skills & Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, sales, and customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software such as AppFolio
- Professional, positive and team oriented with the ability to build trust with residents, vendors, and team members
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active North Carolina Real Estate Sales License required
- Minimum of two (2) years of related leasing or real estate experience
- Experience with new construction or lease-up communities preferred
