JOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE The AOD Support Staff III Certified - MC, provides services to beneficiaries participating in treatment while monitoring the program premises for safety and security. As a Certified AOD Counselor provides education on recovery programs and individual and group counseling sessions, as well as crisis management. Trains and oversees Registered Monitors (Monitor I and Monitor II positions). Maintains AOD Credential.
Must maintain AOD Credential.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- AOD COUNSELING
- Performs primary alcohol and drug counseling functions for clients including screening, assessment, and intake; collects specimen from clients for drug and alcohol screening in accord with organization Policy and Procedures.
- Collaborates with case manager and therapist to assist treatment and other plans; assists in required intervention; participates in group and educational sessions
- Completes discharge and transition plans and completes required Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Monitors client self administration of prescribed medication, keeps required treatment records and shift reports.
- Trains and mentors AOD Register
