About the job Location: Hybrid – Englewood, COAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced OpenShift Engineer to build, optimize, and support our container orchestration platform that enables cutting-edge 5G and edge spectrum use cases. You will work closely with engineering, network, and automation teams to design and operate highly available, scalable OpenShift clusters supporting low-latency, edge-optimized applications critical to Spectrum’s 5G and edge ecosystems.What You’ll DoPlatform Development & Operations
- Design, deploy, and manage Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform environments across multi-site and edge architectures.
- Implement and maintain OpenShift clusters optimized for edge spectrum 5G workloads, including low-latency and constrained connectivity scenarios.
- Collaborate with cloud, networking, and automation teams to standardize deployment patterns that support 5G / edge use cases.Edge Computing & 5G Enablement
- Integrate OpenShift with edge computing hardware, NFVi stacks, and relevant orchestration layers supporting spectrum activities.
- Enable service reliability and performance for edge applications used in network, including telemetry, monitoring, and performance tuning.
- Support deployment of distributed microservices and network functions (CNFs / VNFs) on OpenShift for 5G traffic and spectrum systems.Automation & Tooling
- Develop and improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, and GitOps workflows.
- Integrate CI/CD pipelines supporting automated delivery, compliance, and observability of edge spectrum workloads.
- Create reusable templates, operators, and automation playbooks.Security & Compliance
- Implement secure platform configurations aligned with Charter’s environment and regulatory standards.
- Work with security teams on vulnerability scanning, least privilege policies, RBAC, and compliance automation.Troubleshooting & Support
- Provide Tier-3 support for platform issues, performance anomalies, and edge cluster failures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex network and compute challenges impacting the 5G.
