Online Course Developer Full-time, Permanent 📍 Bayfield, Ontario (on-site) Do you have a passion for education? Virtual High School (VHS) is looking for an individual to join our Academic Team in the full-time, permanent role of Online Course Developer. The successful candidate will support course development and academic services to ensure students have an exceptional learning experience in our online secondary school. What Will I Be Doing? As an Online Course Developer, you will collaborate with a team of educators to plan, research, and develop high-quality online courses and innovative teaching practices that align with Ontario Ministry of Education (MOE) guidelines and curriculum requirements. You will design and update course elements, including interactive activities, assessments, quizzes, and question banks. You will also: Serve as a point of contact for Online Tutoring within your subject area(s), providing real‑time coaching and academic support to students Maintain the integrity of course credits by reviewing student work flagged by the Academic Integrity team Provide feedback on school policies and procedures Take initiative to solve challenges and propose innovative ideas to enhance the student learning experience What Skills Will Help Me Be Successful in This Role? Bachelor of Education or equivalent Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification or equivalent Experience with distance learning and online education Strong written and verbal communication skills A collaborative, positive team player Familiarity with e-learning authoring tools or related technologies Experience with live chat tools (an asset) Experience with Learning Management Systems, particularly Brightspace by D2L (an asset) This opportunity is ideal for both new graduates and experienced educators looking to take the next step in their careers. Compensation Expected compensation: $27.00 – $29.00 per hour (Compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience.)
