Job Description

A South Indian Chef job involves preparing authentic regional dishes (dosas, idlis, sambar, curries, chutneys), managing kitchen operations, ensuring quality/hygiene, menu development, inventory control, and training junior staff, requiring expertise in spices, regional ingredients, and fast-paced kitchen management for an authentic culinary experience. Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare a wide range of traditional South Indian dishes with authentic flavors, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Menu Development: Create, innovate, and design menus, adapting traditional recipes or developing new ones while maintaining authenticity.
• Kitchen Management: Oversee daily kitchen operations, manage stock, control food costs, order supplies, and monitor food temperatures.
• Hygiene & Safety: Strictly enforce food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards within the kitchen.
• Staff Supervision & Training: Lead, train, and mentor junior chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants in techniques and recipes.
• Ingredient Management: Source high-quality ingredients and manage inventory effectively.
• Customer Satisfaction: Collaborate with management to ensure high standards of presentation and taste for customer satisfaction.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a South Indian Chef.
• Extensive knowledge of South Indian cuisine, regional spices, and traditional cooking methods.
• Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
