Position Details

VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) is currently seeking an experienced Military Data Analytics Lead to support multiple federal government programs in the Northern Virginia area. This is a remote position and requires candidates to reside in the National Capital Region (NCR) in order to attend meetings in Arlington/Crystal City, VA. The selected candidate will be part of a highly professional, results-oriented team supporting analysis of Army installations and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Loading data into databases, developing and executing Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) routines
• Querying, analyzing, and reporting on Army real property and associated installation data
• Developing multi-billion-dollar Army funding requirements
• Writing complex queries and programmatic routines to facilitate integration and analysis of large datasets
• Interpreting results, checking data quality, and performing root cause analysis
• Developing and running analytical models
• Extracting, cleansing, and synthesizing data for input into various systems
• Developing visual analytics
• Producing written and verbal narratives, briefing slides and charts to support senior leadership

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• Expertise in database and data mining and extraction applications such as Python, SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI Report Server (PBIRS), MS Access, and MS Excel
• Minimum 5 years of experience programming with SQL, SQL stored procedures, DAX, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)
• Minimum 5 years of experience using data visualization applications such as Power BI and Tableau
• CompTIA Security + Certification or ability to obtain certification
• DoD Secret level clearance required

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure SQL Database is a plus
• DoD Installation Public Works Management and Resource Management
• Working with data related to military construction, real property, and facility sustainment, restoration, and modernization
• DoD Real Property Information Systems, including analyzing facility standards and real property data
• Quantitative research and data mining, analysis, collection and reporting

Clearances and Certifications

• CompTIA Security + Certification or ability to obtain certification
• DoD Secret level clearance required

Location

Arlington, Virginia (National Capital Region - NCR) – remote but requires occasional onsite meetings in Arlington/Crystal City, VA.

Salary

Salary at VISTA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $125,000.00 to $150,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of VISTA's total compensation package for employees.
