POSITION OVERVIEW

We're looking for an Accounting Clerk who takes ownership of their work and keeps things accurate and on time. This role sits within the Accounting & Finance team and is primarily responsible for accounts payable and bank reconciliation, making sure vendor invoices are processed correctly, payments go out on schedule, and the books match the bank. You will report to the Senior Accountant and work closely with the broader accounting team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable

Receive, code, batch, and enter high-volume vendor invoices into TimberScan and Sage 300 CRE

Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, goods received notes, and vendor invoices

Prepare and process vendor payments via cheque, wire transfer, and EFT/ACH

Process employee expense reports and credit card reconciliations

Reconcile monthly vendor statements and respond to vendor inquiries on payment status

Perform monthly bank reconciliations, comparing internal ledger entries to bank statements

Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies

Monitor bank accounts for incoming and outgoing transactions

General Accounting Support

Maintain accurate digital and physical filing systems for invoices, receipts, and bank records

Support the team with general office tasks including scanning, filing, and phone inquiries

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

1-3 years of experience in an accounting clerk or bookkeeping role, with hands-on AP and bank reconciliation experience

Diploma or degree in Accounting or a related field preferred

Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel;

Experience with Sage 300 CRE and TimberScan is an asset

High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and numerical work

Clear communicator, comfortable handling vendor inquiries and working across teams

Experience in real estate, residential construction, or development is an asset
